The Best of the Best Challenge gives each student dancer the opportunity to focus on improving their dancing in a specific division and the winners the chance to represent one of 31 competitions and the Dancer’s Cup Tour at the Grand Finale in Ohio. It's a focused format of fun, excitement and recognition.
For the 2016 Best of the Best Dancesport Challenge, the Pro/Am winners from the 2015 Holiday Classic and Yuletide Ball, and the 2016 Snow Ball, Maryland Dancesport, California Open, Eastern DS, Indiana Challenge, Heritage Classic, Michigan Dance Challenge, San Francisco Open, Philadelphia Festival, Emerald Ball, Atlanta Open, American Star Ball, Tulip Classic, Yankee Classic, Millennium DanceSport, Northcoast Championships, Twin Cities Open, Virginia State, International Grand Ball, the NV Ball, Cincinnati Ballroom Classic, Capital DanceSport, Embassy Ball, Galaxy Dance Festival, Hawaii Star Ball, First Coast Classic, Hollywood Dancesport, Grand National, and the Ultimate Dancesport Championships competitions will be battling it out for Top Honors! The Dancer’s Cup Tour “Best of the Best” representatives will be those Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Show Dance dancers that have accumulated the most points at all of the DCT events beginning with the 2015 Ohio Star Ball and ending with the Ultimate Dancesport Championships in 2016.
In 2016, there are 2 new competitions that are now part of the Best of the Best Dancesport Challenge: the Eastern Dancesport Championships, and the Indiana Challenge. Many thanks to the organizers of these fine competitions for becoming part of the Best of the Best Challenge.
The Grand Finale for this year’s Challenge will be held at the 2015 Ohio Star Ball. At this Finale, the closed Bronze and Silver Finale competitions will take place on Wednesday evening, November 16, 2016, and the Open Gold and Show Dance Finale competitions will take place on Thursday evening, November 17, 2016.
Again for 2016, the Grand Finale winners at the Bronze, Silver, and Gold levels, and the winners of the Theater Arts events, will be asked to make an encore performance of their winning dances on Friday evening at the 2016 Ohio Star Ball. What better way to recognize the winning Best of the Best Dancesport performances than to be shown in the Friday evening events at the 2016 Ohio Star Ball.
